The council’s release does not say how many businesses entered or how the judging was done, and it does not give the winners’ addresses. It describes the field as running “from ambitious start-ups taking their first steps, to well-established companies continuing to grow, innovate and lead by example”.
Cllr Howard Williams, who chairs the council’s Business, Infrastructure and Growth Committee, said: “The Spelthorne Business Awards celebrate the talent, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit that exists across our borough. It was wonderful to see so many businesses come together to recognise their achievements and celebrate their success.”
What it means for you
The four area awards are the practical part of the list. If you want a local printer, a property firm, a honey supplier or a dog groomer that other people in the borough have just rated top, Blackstone Printing (Ashford and Stanwell), Mullen Property Services (Shepperton and Charlton), Busy Bees Honey Suppliers (Staines and Laleham) and Grooming Gorgeous (Sunbury and Halliford) are the names the judges picked. Many of them are in our local business directory.
The awards run every year. The council’s Spelthorne Business Awards page carries the categories and will carry next year’s entry dates when they open.
