Thames Side Brewery's beer festival runs 15 to 18 October, half term brings two shows to Staines Library, and Kempton's fireworks are on Saturday 7 November.

October in Staines-upon-Thames belongs to two venues. Thames Side Brewery on Hale Street has something on almost every night, building to its beer festival from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October. Staines Library Hub in the Elmsleigh Centre carries the half term programme, with two family shows and a month-long river exhibition. After that, the biggest night in the borough is the fireworks at Kempton Park on Saturday 7 November.

  • Unbroken Stix, Saturday 3 October, 8.30pm, Thames Side Brewery. Free entry. Classic rock covers, from Hendrix and Pink Floyd to AC/DC and Fleetwood Mac (Thames Side Brewery).
  • Hoaxwind, Sunday 4 October, 4pm to 7pm, Thames Side Brewery. Standard tickets £15, with no booking fee on the brewery’s own ticket site. A six-piece London tribute to Hawkwind’s 1970s period (Thames Side Brewery tickets).

  • Message in a Bottle, exhibition opening, Tuesday 6 October, 6pm to 6.45pm, Staines Library Hub, Elmsleigh Centre, TW18 4QB. Drinks and a welcome talk open a river-themed exhibition by I Am Flow’s Heron Project, the Waterway Pickers Staines and local artists. The exhibition then runs to Monday 2 November (Visit Staines).
  • Quiz Night, Wednesday 7 October, 7.15pm, Thames Side Brewery. £3 a person. The brewery’s monthly quiz (Thames Side Brewery).
  • Business English taster session, Thursday 8 October, 10am to 12pm, Staines Community Centre, Thames Street, TW18 4EA. Free. It covers meetings, professional emails, presentations and job interview preparation. Register by emailing stainesesol@gmail.com (Visit Staines).
  • River-themed arts and crafts and writing workshops, Saturday 10 October, 1.30pm to 3pm, Staines Library Hub. An arts and crafts workshop for families and a writing workshop for adults, both part of the exhibition (Visit Staines).
  • Ibiza on Thames, Saturday 10 October, from 6.30pm, Thames Side Brewery. Free entry. A three-DJ club night with a light show (Thames Side Brewery).
  • Lizards of Rock and Dry Rot, Sunday 11 October, 3pm to 8pm, Thames Side Brewery. Free entry. Dry Rot play from 3pm to 4.15pm, then Lizards of Rock from 5.30pm (Thames Side Brewery).

November

  • Battle of the Bands, Sunday 1 November, 3pm, Thames Side Brewery. Tickets £10. Five local bands compete for the chance to produce a showreel, and the money raised supports vulnerable people in the area (Zeffy tickets). The ticket page and Visit Staines both give a 3pm start. The brewery’s own calendar lists the same event from 4pm, so check before you travel.
  • Kempton Park Fireworks, Saturday 7 November, Kempton Park Racecourse. Gates 5pm, last entry 7pm, fireworks 7.30pm. Advance tickets £10 (The Jockey Club). Our fireworks page has the entry rules for under-18s.
  • ReFloyd, Saturday 7 November, 7.30pm to 10.30pm, Thames Side Brewery. Standard tickets £24; the early bird tickets have sold out. Three hours of Pink Floyd inside a working brewery, with a second show at 4pm on Sunday 8 November (Thames Side Brewery tickets).
  • Remembrance Sunday, Ashford, Sunday 8 November, 10.45am to 11.30am, Ashford War Memorial (Ashford Wide). Spelthorne Borough Council has not yet published 2026 times for Staines and the other villages. Our Remembrance Sunday page has last year’s times for all seven services.

  • Staines Market, every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday on the High Street. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, flowers, clothes and more; the next is on Wednesday 30 September (Spelthorne Borough Council).
  • Hazelwood parkrun, every Saturday, 9am, Hazelwood Centre, Hazelwood Drive, Sunbury-on-Thames, TW16 6QU. Free. A weekly 5k to walk, jog or run; the next is on Saturday 3 October (parkrun).
  • Laleham junior parkrun, every Sunday, 9am, Thames Side, Laleham, TW18 1SS. Free. The next is on Sunday 4 October (parkrun).
  • Sunbury Antiques Market, second and last Tuesday of the month, 6.30am to 2pm, Kempton Park Racecourse. Entry is £5 from 6.30am to 8am and free from 8am, with free parking. The next dates are Tuesday 13 and Tuesday 27 October, then Tuesday 10 November (Sunbury Antiques Market).
  • Pebble rhymetime, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10.30am to 11am, Staines Library Hub. No booking, just turn up; the next is on Wednesday 30 September (Surrey Libraries).

Staines Library also runs a Duplo club every Saturday from 3pm to 4.15pm and Create Club for ages 11 to 18 every Wednesday from 4pm to 5.30pm. Neither needs booking.

Getting there

Thames Side Brewery, the library in the Elmsleigh Centre, the community centre and the High Street market are all within a few minutes’ walk of each other, so one trip covers most of the town centre listings.
